Phyllis Sloane

Phyllis Lester Sloane

1922-2009

Phyllis was an accomplished, prolific artist throughout her adult life.  She worked in the various mediums of printmaking, painting and watercolors.  Phyllis received her BFA

from Carnegie Mellon in 1943.  Her work moved from abstract in the 1950's and 60's,

to representational work including still-life, cityscape, landscape and the human

figure.  Phyllis had numerous one-woman shows throughout the country.  Her most

recent show was a retrospective at the Las Vegas Art Museum featuring 200 works

covering a period of 60 years.  Her work is represented in numerous private,

corporate and museum collections including the University of New Mexico Art

Museum and the Cleveland Museum of Art.  She was a member of the Print

Club of Cleveland and trustee from 1991-2000.  She was a member of

Santa Fe Printmakers Gallery and Artist Archives of the Western Reserve.
