Aldo Bertolini
Born in Salsomaggiore, Italy in 1951
Bertolini’s academic background was in Economics, although he always had a strong interest in art, particularly contemporary art. He began his artistic studies while working in the studio of Roman painter, Bruno Aller, where he met Italian masters such as Achille Pace, Luigi Boille, and Nini Santoro, among others.
In 2002, he, together with Bruno Aller and painter Marisa Facchinetti, founded the group “I Diagonali”. That same year they opened their gallery in Rome, Galleria Arte e Pensieri. Bertolini has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions worldwide, including the following since 2000:
“I paint maps, trace lines which break, which divide and multiply themselves in interrupted pathways... I choose towns because it comes into being as a meeting point of the ethical and mutual knowledge principle: where the city exists, is his language, his choice, where he decides how to be in life and thus in his project.
In the city the possibility of being, or no longer being, unfolds and withers...”
